We chose you because we saw a fighter. Even though you were up against so many odds, you kept going. That's when we knew Ryder would need a pup like you.
~ Apollo to Chase, Cal Brunker's PAW Patrol: The Movie.

Apollo is a male Rottweiler. He is the son of Esadowa, the twin brother of Artemis, and the adoptive father of Chase.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Apollo was born to Esadowa and Zeus. He had brothers: Hercules, Hephaestus, Hermes, Dionysus, and Ares; and sisters: Artemis, Persephone, and Athena. They lived in Adventure City as stray dogs.

Raising Chase[]

One day, Artemis and Apollo were found by Richard, a scientist for the PAW Patrol Rescue Foundation. He successfully improved organs-on-chips (OOC) that give Artemis and Apollo a ability to speak in human voices. Richard also invented a pup pack that allowed Artemis to repair things. Humdinger Industries' businessman, Mayor Humdinger, expanded the human-voiced chips for all pets owned by Adventure City, leaving Richard and Kendra Wilson to build vehicles for dogs, including Artie. Meanwhile, she and Apollo found a German Shepherd puppy, Chase, whose family had been taken by dognapers. Seeing the bravery in Chase, Ryder, Artie and Apollo adopted Chase near a cage wrestling. Richard and Mary took their dogs; their son, Ryder; and Chase to a Lookout tower in Adventure Bay as their home, then mysteriously left.

Missions in Adventure City[]

When Mayor Humdinger was elected mayor in Adventure City, Liberty called through Richard's Pup-Pad and begged the PAW Patrol, including Apollo, to help keep the people safe from Humdinger. However, Chase refused to go due to having a bad "history" in Adventure City when he was young. Artemis and Apollo convinced their adoptive son to go back, while Chase reluctantly gave Ryder his trust.

Later, while Apollo and Artemis settled in the Adventure City headquarters, a skunk sprayed Chase with its fumes, alerting Butch and Ruben whom have been instructed to capture the pups to pursue Chase and Rocky. Having seen Rocky and Chase leaping over a large ravine, Apollo and Artemis were impressed.

During the subway rescue, Chase froze when his fear gets the best of him. Marshall managed to get the people down with his ladder and Skye went to rescue Chase from the rooftop. Apollo and Ryder suggested Chase should take a break from his duties, but this greatly hurt him. Chase ran away out of heartbreak after accusing Ryder of breaking his trust. Ryder and the rest of the team, including Apollo, set out to find him but Chase was found by Sweetie instead whom attempted to take him in but they were both captured by Butch and Reuben, shocking Sweetie at the double crossing betrayal. They were both taken to Fuzzy Buddies Obedience School, which became a dog pound.

After rescuing them both from the pound, Skye, Artemis, and Apollo took Chase to the street crossing where he saved his life. Apollo and Artemis told Chase that he chose to save him, not out of pity, but because they saw a fighter. Chase realized that they watched out for him and said that he'd be honored to call them his parents. Chase's collar was returned to him, as Apollo asked him to go to work. Chase agreed that he would resume his duties, gaining a new black police uniform.

While working to save the Duke of Flappington and Humdinger from the tower during the Cloud Catcher's storm, a piece of debris fell onto Artemis, forcing Apollo to guard her. After Chase and Sweetie rescued Ryder and the Princess of Barkingburg, overcoming their fears once and for all, Artemis was taken to the animal hospital. Artemis flatlined, and through tears, a heartbroken Apollo refused to accept the loss of his sister. In a near death experience, Artemis was told by Esadowa that her time had not yet come and was revived, much to Apollo and Chase's relief.

When the PAW Patrol drove off to the rescue at a waterfront, Artemis and Apollo stayed behind. While recovering from her wounds, Artemis noticed her paws glowing, realizing that she has superpowers and shocking Apollo.[1]
