Atlas is a male, 3-year-old German shepherd dog, adopted from a police agency in New York with his companion P, a female German shepherd dog of the same age. Both of them had been trained together in New York and planned to be sent up to Albany as K9 units, but were sold to Altus to be purposed as camp guards due to the fact that they worked together primarily, and performed poorly when separated, thus making them of little use to the police.
To ensure they can be paired together, they have been equipped with emblems that match besides color and are ID'd right next to each other as #57 and #58 in the roster. While they usually serve guard duty, they are also sent on dangerous missions that may require military or police training to be handled correctly.
Among themselves, they are very friendly and work expertly. However, they dislike most of the other dogs, and see them as inferior to themselves. The only dog they truly respect is Stas.
Trivia[]
- Many visual aspects are based on Atlas and P-Body from the cooperative section of Portal 2.
- Their emblems are the same colors as the portals from the single-player campaign in both Portal and Portal 2.
- Individually, their emblems match the colors of their respective bot's portals; Atlas's being cyan and blue, and P-Body's being orange and red.
- Their eyes and symbols on either side of their uniforms also reference this.
- Atlas is the only dog in Altus with a necklace rather than a collar.
