Bane is a security dog at the Wild Dino Zoo/Amusement Park. Just so everyone knows: The dinosaurs are not real. Instead of surviving the explosion or being genetically re-engineered, they are animatronics and people in costumes. Dino Land is just an amusement park mixed with a zoo to raise awareness for reptiles and the mistreatment they have. There are lizards, snakes, and other reptilians there as well. It was once an animal sanctuary of sorts, combined with my fanmade project Laws of the Heart, which can be found below. It is not solely an entertainment business, but also raises a lot of money for our scaled friends.
Appearance:
Bane is a tall and buff Estrela Mountain Dog with a brindled brown and black coat. He has very fluffy fur, pitch-black ears, a white tail-tip, and a white splotch in the center of his chest. He almost always wears a black security vest and wears a black leather collar without a tag, but it does have a clip for his leash.
When he grows up, Bane kindly turns down Ryder’s offer for a pup-tag, but he does wear a red ribbon to represent his marriage. He’s also rather scarred, be it from physical fights or fires or just the animals, he has his fair share of battle wounds. He might also be one of the buffest mates of the team.
Personality:
The typical guard dog, Bane is a very serious and mature canine. He takes his job very seriously and doesn’t tolerate disruptions. He is tough and stern, seemingly an emotionless rock. He does have emotions, obviously, but they’re invisible to anyone who isn’t his friend, and if you are his friend, then he’ll only take off his mask when not on-duty. He’s incredibly hardworking and is such a big workaholic that he must be dragged to bed or to meals by his handlers and/or friends. He’s independent and doesn’t believe in friendships until after a few months of working at Dino Wild. He’s strong and witty, tending to think outside the box. He’s difficult to distract and no-nonsense. He seems cold and threatening to outsiders, and although he is the latter, he does show mercy and isn’t as cold-hearted as others may think. His job is to protect and unarm, not harm. He is immensely loyal and will never hesitate to risk his life to save someone, especially a family member. He’s always alert and hesitant to trust. He carries himself with confidence and always stands tall. He can be a bit awkward in friendly conversations, used to simply keeping quiet. He doesn’t speak much, even when spoken to, just hums, movements of his head, or very short sentences. He’s friendly to those familiar to him, but never to the point of other dogs such as wanting attention. He’s not much of a “pet me” pup, anyway.
As he gets older, Bane mellows out quite a bit. He realizes his job isn’t everything and lets loose a little bit. He’s still serious and mature, of course, and still works hard, but he takes frequent breaks and stays with his friends a bit more. He still doesn’t talk all that much, but it’s a significant change compared to how much he spoke before. His heart melts around his children and mate, and he would do anything to keep them safe. He’s a big family man and is fiercely protective over those he loves. He’s still mostly the same pup as when he was introduced, but also very different, if that makes sense.
Bio:
Bane was not raised in a good household or in a good town. The town was similar to New York City, always loud and busy. His owners were always too busy to care about him, leaving him neglected. One day when his owners were at work, the house was broken into. Bane fought on instinct and ended up causing such a racket that the neighbors called the police. The owners, once home, were surprised to find their dog saved their things. He was taken away due to neglect, but he was sent to an academy to be trained and well… He was sent to Dino Wild and that’s where his story begins. At least to him.
Trivia:
-Doesn’t come in until the pups are around 16 in dog years
-Part of him is based off of Tempest Shadow from My Little Pony: The Movie (2017)
-He is named after Magnus Bane from Shadowhunters.
Fears:
In progress.
Romance:
If he’s honest, Bane never imagined himself dating. His job was too important for him to do something as ridiculous as dating.
Darling Rex had a few partners, none of them lasting too long, and before the pair knew it, they were falling for one another.
