Summary[]

Learning that all their Adventure City vehicles are Autobots, the pups decide to join forces with them to save the city from the evil Decepticons, who attempt to get rid of all the dogs and machines.

Chapter I[]

One day, Chase drove his police cruiser to rescue Cap'n Turbot and his French cousin, Francois. Apparently, the two cousins were arguing about who should drive the cap'n's truck. Unfortunately, their squabble led the vehicle to crash through a guardrail and have the back of the truck hanging over the edge.

"Thank you, Chase!" Cap'n Turbot wailed. "Please help us out of this particularly precarious predicament."

"Don't worry!" Chase said. "Ruff! Winch!"

The winch emerged from the front of his rig and fired at the front bumper.

Chase put his car in reverse and slammed the gas pedal as hard as he could, but the Cap'n's truck became more heavier and heavier.

"Augh, I can't stop it!" Chase wailed. "I need some help!"

Suddenly, a voice appeared out of nowhere. "You got it!"

Chase looked and could not believe his eyes: his Adventure City police car was racing toward them at top. He adjusted his eyesight and was more surprised to see that there was no one driving the car. The German Shepherd guessed that Ryder upgraded it to be remote controlled.

The car stopped and launched its own winch toward the truck.

Together, the two vehicles worked their hardest to pull the truck back onto the road.

"Oh, thank you," Cap'n Turbot said with relief as the truck drove off.

But Chase didn't care about that. Okay, he did. But he was still surprised to see his Adventure City police car driving all by itself. He was about to say something, but the car sped off before he could finish, leaving him in the dust.

——

"And then, it just took off," Chase said, completing his story back at the Lookout.

While the rest of the pups were captivated by their friend's story, Rubble did not look convinced. "Oh, please. A car that can drive all by itself? There's no way that's not possible."

Then he left.

Chas began to wonder. Was he just imagining things? Or did he really see his Adventure City police car drive by itself?

Chapter II[]

The next day, Chase was busy whistling as he walked through the streets, trying his best to clear his head after what had happened yesterday. As he did, he helped Mr. Porter load up his van, helped a family of ducks cross the street safely, and helped Mayor Goodway search for Chickaletta. Luckily, her purse chicken was in City Hall, poking at some dropped corn.

——

Chase came across the museum. Figuring he should stop, he was about to enter, when he heard sirens. He looked, and there, pulling over in front of him, was a black Ford Mustang police car.

"Hey, Officer," the German Shepherd said cheerfully. "Can you give me a ride back to the Lookout?"

But there was no answer.

Confused, Chase walked up to the car and placed his front paws on the front hood. "Hey, what gives?" he exclaimed. "Look, if you want to talk to me in person, you can either step out or I can hop in."

Suddenly, without a warning, the car roared to life and jolted forward, knocking the surprised Chase to the ground.

"Whoa, whoa!" he exclaimed in shock and fear as he backed away while the car repeatedly revved its engine and shifted forward. "Stop! If I did something to upset you, I'm sorry! Just, please, stop!"

As if by magic, the car immediately stopped. Its engine idled softly.

Chase let out some uneasy pants. When the car shifted forward again, Chase closed his eyes and braced himself for impact. But instead of being run over, he heard whirring and clanking. When he opened his eyes, his jaw dropped. Right before his eyes, bits and bobs of the car shifted around until there, looming over the stunned police pup, was a giant robot, with bits of the police car all over his body.

For a moment, the two looked at each other, as if they were having a staring contest. But then, the robot evilly said one word that triggered everything.

"Boo."

Instantly, Chase screamed and ran off as fast as his paws could carry.

Chapter III[]

"Get back here!" the robot shouted, chasing the German Shepherd.

"Oh, no! Oh, no!" Chase wailed. "No, no no no no no no no no! A thousand no's!"

Chase ran up to the train station and hid by a wall. He panted as quietly as he could. At that moment, he heard footsteps. He carefully looked around the corner and could see the giant robot looking in all the train cars.

"Okay, time to make my exit," he said quietly and tiptoed away. But no sooner had he stepped away, he stepped on a crumpled ball of paper. "Oh, no."

"Gotcha!" the robot cackled. And once again, he began to chase Chase.

Suddenly, as soon as the German Shepherd made a sharp turn, he tripped and landed with a thud. "I'm okay," he said quickly. Suddenly, he heard a loud bam, and there, once again looming over him, was the police car robot.

"Who are you?" the robot asked.

Figuring he was being interrogated, Chase immediately answered. "Chase, police pup of the PAW Patrol. And you are?"

"My name is Barricade," the police car robot replied. "Now then…are you a spy working for the Autobots?"

Almost immediately, Chase's fear turned into confusion. "What? What are you talking about?"

Barricade growled in frustration, slowly raised a fist, and bashed the sidewalk, making Chase yelp.

"ARE YOU A SPY WORKING FOR THE AUTOBOTS???!!!" the giant robot hollered. "ANSWER ME!!!"

With no other choice, Chase gulped. "No?"

Just when Barricade raised another fist, Chase saw an opportunity to evade him. Quickly, he rolled over and ran off.

——

At the same time, Marshall was humming as he walked through the streets of town, when all of a sudden…

SHOVE!

"What was that for, Chase?!" Marshall snapped.

"Sorry, Marshall!" Chase panted. "But a giant robot just attacked me."

Marshall did not look convinced. "Yeah. I'll believe you when pigs fly."

"Well, well, well."

Chase froze in his tracks.

"Who said that?" Marshall exclaimed.

Chase placed a paw on his face. "Barricade."

"Who?"

Suddenly, there was a loud crash. It was Barricade.

Marshall squeaked. "I had to ask."

Chapter IV[]

"I see you have brought a friend," Barricade cackled.

"Stay back, Barricade," Chase growled, defending his friend.

"Or what? You will shoot me with your pathetic little tennis balls?!" Barricade laughed. "I'd love to see you try."

Marshall swallowed hard, glancing nervously at Chase. "Uh, please tell me you actually have a plan."

Cackling, Barricade raised a foot and was about to stomp on the two pups, when out of nowhere…

"Get away from them!"

The two pups looked straight ahead saw something that surprised them: Chase's Adventure City police car, driving all by itself.

The car swerved and knocked Barricade onto the beach. Then it stopped before Chase and Marshall. "Both of you, get in!"

Although the two pups were initially hesitant, they scrambled on board and buckled up.

As the car sped off, Barricade sat up and saw the whole thing. Growling, he got up, transformed into his vehicle mode, and began to go after the two pups.

——

As Chase's car sped down through the woods, Barricade chased them.

"Faster, faster!" Marshall wailed, trying his hardest not to look back.

"Do I look like I can go any faster?!" Chase's car snapped.

Chase gulped, hoping they will indeed lose Barricade soon.

Up ahead, Rocky was helping Farmer Al change a flat tire when…

"Get out of the way!"

The two looked and watched Chase's Adventure City police car speed by.

"What was that about?" Rocky asked.

Farmer Al didn't know that until…

VRROOOOOM!

The two looked and saw the Ford Mustang Police Car driving at top speed. Exclaiming, they dove out of the way right before the car rammed into Farmer Al's truck.

"I hope Farmer Al has insurance on his truck," Chase winced as Barricade still followed them.

——

Chase's car took the two pups all the way to Adventure City, backed into an alley, and turned off its lights just as Barricade slowly drove by.

The two pups felt like they were in the clear when…

"What's going on here?"

The two pups froze and saw Liberty, having just walked by when she saw Chase's car standing there.

"Liberty, you need to get out of here!" Chase urged.

"Not until you explain what's…"

"Gotcha!"

"Oh, scrap!" Chase's car groaned. "Liberty, get in!"

"Chase, is your car talking to me?"

"Yes! Now hop in!" the German Shepherd ordered, a hint of urgency in his voice.

Liberty looked the down the street, and there, speeding after them, was the Ford Mustang police car!

"Oh!" the Long-Haired Dachshund exclaimed. Quickly, she scrambled on board Chase's car and buckled up herself. Then the car sped down the road.

Chapter V[]

Eventually on Main Street, Chase's car made a powerful U-turn, making the three pups fly out. Right before their very eyes, the car sprouted arms and legs, and parts moved around until in its place, looking ready to fight, was a giant robot.

"Two cars that can turn into giant robots?!" Chase exclaimed, nearly fainting. "Now I've seen everything!"

"Tell me about it," Marshall grumbled.

As Barricade drove up, he got a good look at the robot. "Mirage!" he growled. He turned into his robot mode and punched Mirage in the face, knocking him to ground.

"You three! Get back!" Mirage urged the three pups, who immediately ran off.

"I'm going to make you regret that!" Barricade sneered. He grabbed a street lamp and used it to whack Mirage like a bat.

Mirage barrel-rolled through the air and landed with a thud. "Come on, Decepticon punk!" he growled. Then he transformed into his vehicle mode and rammed Barricade, knocking him to the ground.

Not too far away, Liberty and the boys, who are all hiding behind a car, looked at each other in confusion. "Decepticon?" they said in unison.

Barricade grabbed an ice cream truck and tossed it at Mirage. "Take that, you snake!"

"You’re gonna need more than desserts to stop me!"

Mirage ran, jumped, and kicked Barricade, karate-style.

Then and there, Barricade decided that he had had enough. "I will see to it that you pay for this, Autobot!" he sneered. Then he transformed into his vehicle mode and disappeared into the streets.

Panting, Mirage turned to the III surprised pups, who came out of hiding once Barricade left. "Probably a lot for the III of you, huh?" he chortled nervously. "But don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you."

Chase developed the courage to speak. "My name is Chase," he said. "And these are my best friends, Liberty and Chase. And you are?”

"The name's Mirage," the giant robot replied, bowing.

"What are you? Some sort of government experiment or something?" Marshall asked.

Mirage shook his head: "Nope. I’m an alien."

Liberty tilted her head to one side. "Alien?"

"Yep," Mirage nodded before turning into his vehicle mode. "Come on, you three, hop in."

"Shall we?" Chase his offered his friends.

The three pups hopped into Mirage and buckled up.

Then Mirage drove off.

——

"So, Mirage, where are you taking us?" Marshall asked.

"Oh, you'll see."

As Mirage continued to drive in his vehicle mode, Chase once again spoke. "Mirage, why exactly did Barricade attack me?"

"I think I know, Chase," Mirage sighed. "Do you recall when you and I saved the Turbot cousins from going over the edge?"

"Yeah?"

"Well, I'm guessing that Barricade eavesdropped on it and wanted to have a little, ahem, 'chat', with you, especially after I zoomed in to help."

Eventually, the group arrived at their destination.

It was an intersection. In one side, two lion statues stood on both sides of a big stone sign. The pups were very familiar with this sight. Chase, more so, than the others.

"This place…" the German Shepherd said softly. "This was where Ryder and I first met."

Chase knew that day like the back of his paw. He was abandoned in the city when he was just a puppy. When he came across this very intersection, a van came up and was about to ram into him. But then, Ryder stopped the van at the last minute, saw the boldness within Chase, and took him in.

Just then, Marshall noticed something approaching them. "Hey, what's that?" he asked, pointing his paw.

Chapter VI[]

Chase and Liberty looked in the direction the Dalmatian had pointed and were surprised to see a red-and-blue long nose semi-truck.

But that's not all.

Some more engines were heard from behind the III pups. They looked and were most surprised: the rest of the pups' Adventure City vehicles were coming, all driving with no one at the wheel! Plus, II more vehicles were with them: a yellow-and-black Chevrolet Camaro, and a red-and white Ford F150 Ambulance.

Slowly, the III pups and the semi-truck approached each other and stopped.

Before the pups' very eyes, the truck dissolved its shape. Two legs emerged, then arms.

Soon, a giant robot stood firm. "Autobots, transform," it said in a low, commanding tone.

All around the three pups, all the driverless vehicles, including the Camaro and Ford Ambulance, began to transform into giant robots.

Slowly, the long-nose semi-truck robot kneeled down to Liberty and the boys.

Marshall wanted to run. But Chase stopped him with a paw. "It looks like he doesn't want to hurt us. Uh, hi. My name is Chase, and these are my friends, Liberty and Marshall."

"Pleasure to meet you," the robot said. "My name is Optimus Prime. We are autonomous robotic organisms from the planet Cybertron."

"But you can call us Autobots, for short," the ambulance robot commented.

"Autobots," Marshall muttered quietly. "Huh. Rolls off the tongue."

"What's cracking, little dudes?"

Liberty and the boys turned to see the robot who had taken the form of Zuma's Adventure City hovercraft.

"My first lieutenant, designation, Jazz," Optimus said.

"This looks like a cool place to kick it," Jazz mused before he spun and lied down on the middle of the crosswalk, next to one of the lion statues.

"Sounds like he's Zuma's kind of bot," Liberty whispered to the boys, who both snickered in agreement.

The pups turned to the robot who had taken the form of Marshall's Adventure City fire truck.

"My weapons specialist, Ironhide," Optimus introduced the fire truck robot.

With a toothy grin, Ironhide raised his arms, and two water cannons popped out. "You feeling lucky, punk?" he quipped playfully.

Optimus gave his weapons specialist a stern, yet calm look. "Easy, Ironhide."

Ironhide laughed sheepishly. "Just kidding," he said. "I just wanted to show them my cannons."

Chase turned to the Ford F-150 Ambulance robot.

"Our medical officer, Ratchet," Optimus said.

"Pleasure to meet you," Ratchet said proudly, bowing.

"You're a medic, too?!" Marshall said with excitement. "You know, I'm something of a medic myself."

"Maybe we could work together, not!" Ratchet snarked.

Marshall felt hurt by the medical officer's words.

"You'll have to forgive Ratchet," Optimus said. "He's really nice, once you get to know him." He turned to the robot who had taken the form of the Camaro. "This is our young but brave scout, Bumblebee."

To the pups' surprise, Bumblebee just made beeping sounds.

"Why is he talking like that?" Liberty asked.

"Some time in his life," Optimus sighed, "he had lost his voice box, the Cybertronian organ that works much like human vocal cords."

Liberty and the boys felt sorry for Bumblebee. Then they turned to see the robot who had taken the form of Liberty's scooter.

"Our most agile warrior, Arcee," Optimus introduced.

"Nice to meet you," Arcee said proudly.

"That's our eyes in the sky, Windblade," Optimus continued.
