Chapter 1[]
"There you go!" Rubble said proudly to his three cousins, Wheeler, Mix, and Charger. Recently, he told the three about how he and his friends trained in Pup-Fu. So he decided to teach them some of the skills himself. And it would appear that they're nailing it.
"Hyah!" Mix shouted before kicking a wooden board.
"You're totally nailing it the most, Mix!" Rubble said with a chortle.
"What can I say? I learned from the best. And I'm sure the others are, too."
Wheeler and Charger smiled at each other. At that moment, the Bark Screen went off.
"Come on!" Rubble called as the four cousins ran up to the tower and stopped before the Bark Screen.
"Rubble & Crew, how can we help?"
And then, four turtles appeared on the screen.
"Hi, Rubble," one of the turtles said cheerfully.
"Four talking turtles?!" Charger exclaimed. "That's new!" Rubble chuckled.
"Wheeler, Charger, Mix, meet my friends, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Leonardo…"
"Greetings."
"…Donatello…"
"Hello."
"…Raphael…"
"Hi."
"…and Michelangelo."
"Wassup?"
"Wait a minute!" Wheeler exclaimed. "Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo?! Do you mean…?!" Rubble nodded.
"Yep. The turtles were named after Italian Renaissance artists. Why are you guys calling?"
"We're coming to Builder Cove to teach some folks martial arts, and we'd thought you might like to join us," Donatello explained.
"If you are, why don't we build a dojo?" Rubble suggested. "I've been teaching these three Pup-Fu all morning."
"A dojo. Heh, I like that idea," Leonardo said.
"And how about this?" Mix suggested. "Since the turtles are named after Renaissance artists, wouldn't it be fun if… we make the dojo Renaissance-themed?"
"A Renaissance-themed dojo?!" Michelangelo exclaimed. "Awesome idea. Definitely a turtle-tastic way to connect with our ninjitsu training and our namesakes."
"What can I say?" Rubble shrugged. "Mix is one smart pup." Everyone agreed, but Raphael rolled his eyes.
"Sounds stupid," he muttered so quietly that not even his brothers heard him.
"Say no more, Rubble," Leonardo said. "We'll be right over to help." When they hung up, Rubble turned to his cousins.
"Okay, crew, let's bow-wow build."
Chapter 2[]
After getting the supplies they needed from Auntie Crane, Rubble and his cousins arrived at the site where the new Renaissance dojo would be built. As they hopped out of their construction vehicles, they saw a green RV coming in. The RV came to a stop, and the doors swung open. Out stepped the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, each carrying their own set of tools and materials.
"Hey, Rubble! Hey, crew!" Leonardo greeted as he approached them.
"Wow, you guys really travel in style," Wheeler said, eyeing the RV.
"Yeah, it's our Turtle Van," Michelangelo said with a grin. "Perfect for all our ninja needs."
"And we've got your hard hats right here," Charger said, handong the turtles four hard hats the same colors as their masks.
"Alright, team," Rubble said, clapping his paws together. "Let's get started. We've got a dojo to build!" As they began unloading the supplies, it didn't take long for Raphael's impatience to start showing.
"Come on, guys, let's move faster! We don't have all day!"
"Easy, Raph," Donatello said calmly. "We'll get it done. We just need to work together." Rubble noticed Raphael's frustration and decided to keep an eye on him.
"Okay, everyone, let's make this dojo the best one ever!"
——
As the team began to lay out the foundation for the dojo, Mix noticed something unusual.
"Uh-oh, guys, we've got a bit of a slope here. The dojo might end up lopsided if we don't fix this."
Donatello, always prepared with his tech gadgets, pulled out a bubble level from his tool belt.
"Good catch, Mix. Let's see how uneven it is."
With the bubble level, he carefully aligned it across the ground, clearly showing the slope.
"Looks like we need to raise this side by a few inches," Donatello said, pointing to the lower end of the slope. Rubble nodded.
"Alright, let's gather some extra materials to level it out. We can use these wooden planks to build up the lower side."
As they worked, Raphael's impatience started to show again.
"This is taking forever! Can't we just start building already?"
"Raph, if we don't fix the foundation, the whole dojo will be crooked," Leonardo explained calmly. "We need to do this right."
"Yeah, dude," Michelangelo added. "We don't want a dojo that's all wonky. Imagine trying to practice our moves on a slant!" Rubble and his crew, along with the turtles, worked together to build up the lower side of the foundation. They used the wooden planks to create a sturdy base, ensuring that the entire area was level. Donatello double-checked with his bubble level, and finally, the red line was perfectly straight.
"Great job, everyone!" Rubble howled. "Now we can start building the dojo."
"About time," a grumpy Raphael muttered.
Chapter 3[]
With the foundation finally level, the team was ready to start building the dojo. Rubble assigned tasks to everyone,l.
"Okay, guys," Rubble said, looking at the blueprint, "Wheeler, you and Leo can start on the framework. Mix, you and Donnie handle the interior walls. Charger, you and Mikey work on the roof. And, Raph, you're with me on the exterior." Everyone nodded and got to work. Wheeler and Leonardo quickly set up the wooden beams for the framework, their combined strength making the job easier.
"Nice work, Wheeler," Leonardo said, impressed by the pup's skills.
"Thanks, Leo! You're not too bad yourself," Wheeler replied with a grin. Meanwhile, Mix and Donatello were busy with the interior walls. Mix had an idea to add some secret compartments for storing ninja gear.
"Check this out, Donnie," she said, showing him a hidden panel. "We can use these for extra storage."
"Brilliant idea, Mix!" Donatello said. "This will be a perfect storage technique." Up on the roof, Charger and Michelangelo were having a blast. Michelangelo kept cracking jokes, making Charger laugh as they laid down the tiles.
"Why did the ninja go to the party? Because he was a ‘party animal'!" Michelangelo said, laughing at his own joke.
"Good one, Mikey!" Charger replied, shaking his head with a smile. On the ground, Rubble and Raphael were working on the frame for the exterior. Raphael's frustration was still evident, but Rubble tried to keep things positive.
"Hey, Raph, can you pass me that hammer?" Rubble asked.
"Sure, here you go," Raphael said, handing it over.
"Thanks. You know, you're really good at this," Rubble said, trying to boost Raphael's spirits.
"Yeah, well, I guess," Raphael muttered, still a bit grumpy, though a part of him knew the English Bulldog was right.
As the day went on, the dojo started to take shape. Despite Raphael's occasional outbursts, the team managed to stay on track, thanks to their teamwork and determination.
Soon, the framework was up, the walls were in place, and the roof was nearly finished. The dojo was starting to look impressive, with its Renaissance-themed design coming to life.
"Great job, everyone!" Rubble said, looking at their progress. "We're almost there. Let's finish strong tomorrow." Everyone cheered, feeling proud of what they had accomplished so far. Even Raphael managed a small smile, seeing how well the dojo was coming together.
——
The next day, as they were putting up the exterior walls, Raphael's temper flared up. He was struggling to fit a particularly stubborn piece of wood into place.
"Come on, you stupid piece of—!" Raphael shouted, throwing the wood into a beam in frustration. All of a sudden, a creaking sound was heard. Raphael looked and gasped in horror. The piece of wood that hit the beam caused it to crack!
"Everyone, get back!" Raphael shouted, running away. "It's coming down!" Everyone scrambled to run for cover as the dojo crumbled to the ground.
Chapter 4[]
"Not good at all," Wheeler sighed. "I repeat, not good at all." As the pups and turtles stared in despair at the now ruined dojo, Raphael suddenly yet angrily grabbed Rubble by the collar and began shaking him.
"THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT, RUBBLE!!!" he screamed in the Bulldog's face. "WE SHOULD'VE HAD THIS DONE SOONER!!! BUT WE DIDN'T!!! WHY?! BECAUSE OF YOU!!!"
"Raph, enough!"
Pausing, Raphael dropped Rubble, who landed with a thud, and turned to Leonardo, who had his arms crossed.
"Rubble isn't why the dojo fell to the ground. It's you."
"What?! You can't be serious, Leo," Raphael argued.
"I'm afraid your brother's right, Raph," Wheeler said. "This whole time, your temper has been constantly making things difficult for us."
"Yeah," Rubble agreed, coughing. "That's why I think you need to stay at the Bark Yard until you can find a way to control your temper."
"Until then, we just can't trust you," Leonardo said with a shake of his head.
"Fine!" Raphael snapped. "But you will be sorry!" Then, he stormed off. Once he was gone, the turtles and pups looked at each other.
"Alright, team, we can do this," Rubble said with confidence. "Let's show Raph that we can build this dojo, no matter what." Everyone nodded; their determination renewed. They worked tirelessly, each member contributing their skills and ideas. Wheeler and Leonardo reinforced the framework, Mix and Donatello redesigned the interior walls, and Charger and Michelangelo repaired the roof.
——
As ordered, Raphael made his way to the Bark Yard. There, he plopped down on a bench. He sighed, knowing that his temper made the dojo collapse.
"May I help you?"
Raphael looked and saw Auntie Crane walking up to him. She hopped on the bench and sat next to him.
"Say, aren't you a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle?" Auntie Crane guessed. "Ralph! Randy? Reggie?"
"Actually, it’s Raphael," the turtle corrected with a small chuckle. "But you can call me Raph."
"Say, what brings you here?" Auntie Crane asked. "I thought you and your brothers were helping Rubble, Charger, Wheeler, and Mix build a Renaissance-themed dojo." Knowing she wasn't giving him a choice, Raphael sighed.
"I let my temper get the best of me, and I caused the dojo to collapse. And now, I've been sent here until I can find a way to control your temper. I need to fix this. I need to make things right."
"You know," Auntie Crane said, "sometimes, when I get stressed, I like to squeeze a stress ball."
"Stress ball?"
"As the name implies, it's a squeezeable ball that can help you calm yourself down."
Auntie Crane reached into her pup-pack, pulled out a red stress ball, and handed it to Raphael.
"Here," she said. "If you ever feel your temper acting up, you just have to squeeze this."
"Thank you, Crane," Raphael said. And off he went.
——
As the sun began to set, Raphael returned to the construction site. He saw the team working hard, the dojo already looking much better. Taking a deep breath, he approached Rubble.
"Rubble, I'm sorry," he said in a sincere tone. "I let my temper get the best of me, and I messed things up. Can I help finish the dojo?"
Rubble looked at Raphael, then smiled.
"Of course, Raph. We could use your help."
The team welcomed Raphael back, and together, they worked late into the night. And whenever Raphael would start to lose it, he squeeze his stress ball to calm himself down. With his strength and the team's combined efforts, the dojo was finally completed.
"Great job, everyone!" Rubble said, looking at the finished dojo. "We are done-done-de-done!"
"Still one thing left to do," Donatello said. "Give the place a mix makeover!"
"Hey, that's my line," Mix laughed. The two got straight to work painting the Renaissance scenery on the inside of the dojo. When they finished, Raphael smiled, feeling a sense of pride and gratitude.
"Thanks for giving me another chance, guys."
The team celebrated their success, knowing that they had built more than just a dojo—they had strengthened their friendship and learned the importance of patience and teamwork.
Chapter 5[]
The next day, everyone in Builder Cove gathered for the grand opening of the new dojo. As Rubble, his cousins, and the turtles stood proudly, Mayor Greatway and Mr. Ducky-Doo stood by the front door with a pair of scissors.
"People of Builder Cove," she announced, "thanks to the efforts of Rubble & Crew and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, it is my absolute honor to declare the new Renaissance-themed dojo... open." Everyone clapped and cheered as Mayor Greatway used the scissors to cut the ribbon. Then Rubble stepped forward with a proud look.
"We couldn't have done without the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," he said. "Rubble & Crew hopes to collaborate with you four brothers soon. Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael."
"Now that we've finished the dojo," Raphael said, "isn't there a dance you like to do once you're done?"
"The Wiggle N Wag," Rubble grinned. "Let's do it!" Then, the eight lined up and danced the Wiggle N Wag.
"We built a dojo!"
"Rubble & Crew!"
"And it's pup-tastic!"
"That's what we do!"
When they finished, the pups and turtles laughed and jumped into a pile.
"Come on!" Donatello said, getting up. "Let's go practice some martial arts." Then, they ran inside the dojo and began practicing.
